PEEK sheet and ABS sheet are widely used construction materials. So what's the difference between the two performances? Let's take a look at the difference between the performance of PEEK sheet and ABS sheet.
Peek sheet main performance:
High temperature resistance. PEEK sheet has a high glass transition temperature (Tg = 143 ° C) and melting point (Tm = 334 ° C). Its load thermal deformation temperature is up to 316 ° C, long-term use temperature is 260 ° C, and instantaneous use temperature can reach 300 ° C.
Mechanical characteristics. PEEK sheet has rigidity and flexibility, especially the fatigue resistance under alternating stress is very outstanding, and can be comparable to alloy materials.
Self-lubricating. PEEK sheet has excellent sliding characteristics, which is suitable for the occasions where low friction coefficient and wear resistance are strictly required. Especially, the PEEK sliding grade modified with carbon fiber, graphite, and PTFE has excellent wear resistance.
Corrosion resistance. In addition to concentrated sulfuric acid, PEEK is insoluble in any solvents and strong acids and bases, and is resistant to hydrolysis and has high chemical stability.
Flame retardancy. PEEK sheet is self-extinguishing, even without any flame retardant, can reach UL standard 94V-0.
Easy to process. Due to the high temperature fluidity and high thermal decomposition temperature of PEEK sheet, various processing methods can be used: injection molding, extrusion molding, compression molding and melt spinning.
Abs plate main performance:
ABS board is a new material in the board industry. Its full name is acrylonitrile / butadiene / styrene copolymer board. It is the polymer with the largest output and the most widely used. It organically unifies the various properties of PS, SAN, and BS, and has excellent mechanical properties of toughness, rigidity, and rigid phase balance.
ABS has excellent mechanical properties, and its impact strength is excellent, which can be used at extremely low temperatures; ABS has excellent wear resistance, good dimensional stability, and oil resistance, and can be used for bearings under medium loads and speeds. ABS has higher creep resistance than PSF and PC, but less than PA and POM. The flexural strength and compressive strength of ABS are the worst among plastics. The mechanical properties of ABS are greatly affected by temperature.
ABS is not affected by water, inorganic salts, alkalis, and various acids, but is soluble in ketones, aldehydes, and chlorinated hydrocarbons. Stress cracking will occur due to erosion by glacial acetic acid and vegetable oil. ABS has poor weather resistance and is prone to degradation under the action of ultraviolet light. After half a year outdoors, the impact strength is reduced by half.
ABS sheet has excellent impact strength, good dimensional stability, good dyeing, forming and machining, high mechanical strength, high rigidity, low water absorption, good corrosion resistance, simple connection, non-toxic and tasteless, and has excellent Chemical and electrical insulation properties. It can resist heat without deformation, and has high impact toughness even at low temperature. It is also a hard, scratch-resistant and deformable material. Low water absorption; high dimensional stability. The conventional ABS board is not very white, but the toughness is very good. It can be cut with a shears or punched with a die.
The thermal deformation temperature of ABS is 93 ~ 118 ℃, and the product can be increased by about 10 ℃ after annealing treatment. ABS can still show some toughness at -40 ℃, and it can be used in the temperature range of -40 ~ 100 ℃.
Among them, the transparent ABS board has very good transparency and excellent polishing and polishing effects. It is the preferred material to replace PC sheet. Compared with acrylic, it has very good toughness and can meet the detailed processing of products. The disadvantage is that the relative price of transparent ABS is more expensive .
The above is an introduction to the performance of PEEK sheet and ABS sheet. I believe that after the introduction, everyone knows the difference between PEEK sheet and ABS sheet.
